Between 200 and 500 people die each year of influenza in Ireland and thousands more require hospitalisation to treat flu related illness.  COVID 19, another viral infection has yet to have a vaccine developed. Vaccination is one of the key elements in fighting disease and these courses look at the importance of vaccination in our community.   

Courses Include: 

  1. HPV vaccination-The Facts (Part 1)
  2. HPV-The Schools Vaccination Programme (Part 2)
  3. HPV -Changes to the HPV Vaccination Programme (Part 3)

Students completing these courses will be awarded the 4Front Vaccination Badge.

The national HPV vaccination programme for girls aged 12- 13 years began in 2010. This is carried out by HSE vaccination teams in second level schools.From September 2019, the programme extended to include 12 – 13-year-old boys. While the Vaccination will not be carried out in the Pharmacy or Pharmacy Setting, you may be asked questions relating to HPV and the Vaccine from concerned patients. This module is designed for Pharmacists and Pharmacy technicians to provide you with the most up to date information available to support vaccination. (Part 1 of 3)
